We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our Technology Development group. You will provide laboratory support to the Scientists and RAs on our team to help them develop and optimize genome engineering tools and procedures.
The position offers an excellent opportunity to learn basic laboratory techniques to support research and development efforts. The successful candidate will be encouraged to continue to develop their skills and grow into a more independent role.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Primer design, PCR and molecular cloning, nucleic acid purification
  • Prepare tissue culture reagents and custom media following SOPs
  • Inventory and maintain lab supplies
  • Coordinate experiments with other RAs and Scientists across functional groups, compile data, and present results
  • Maintain an organized notebook


You should possess the following:

  • AA/AS or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • An inquisitive approach to science, attention to detail, and a desire to work collaboratively with colleagues of diverse professional and cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Strong quantitative skills, ability to input and track data in excel or equivalent
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills


Experience in any of these areas is a plus:

 

  • Experience in the biotech industry or in an academic, research, or manufacturing laboratory
