We are seeking a RNA-Seq Scientist with extensive experience in all aspects of single cell RNA-Sequencing (scRNA-Seq) and related technologies. You will champion the deployment of transcriptomic profiling across multiple projects and functional teams at Caribou.  The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience both performing scRNA-Seq experiments and analyzing the results in the context of other functional and genomic attributes. As part of Caribou's computational biology team, you will ensure that transcriptomic data enhances the characterization of our engineered cell products at all stages of the development process. In addition, you will own the laboratory systems and procedures required to produce consistently high-quality results. This includes preparing samples, performing actual scRNA-Seq experiments, coordinating with our NGS team, developing SOPs, training other scientists and RAs, and maintaining relevant instrumentation.   


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scRNA-Seq and related technologies (e.g. single cell immune profiling, chromatin accessibility, etc.)
  • Work closely with Caribou project and functional teams to tailor the assay and analysis for specific use cases
  • Ensure consistency and reproducibility of transcriptomic profiles over time to support longitudinal characterization of engineered cell products
  • Work closely with Caribou NGS sequencing team
  • Develop key documentation including SOPs and training plans
  • Train other scientists and RAs to run single cell experiments   



  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Genomics, Informatics, or related fields
  • Demonstrated proficiency coding in Python, NumPy/SciPy, R, Tableau, and/or JavaScript to support efficient analytical pipelines, statistical analyses, and visualizations
  • A track record of high quality publications demonstrating a deep understanding of the scRNA-Seq assay, relevant analytical approaches, and key applications      
  • Experience with NGS sequencing, Nextera library preparation, and related technologies
  • Experience with source code control and software development best practices is highly desirable
