Caribou is seeking an experienced Senior Patent Agent/Senior Patent Counsel to join its Legal team. The candidate will help build the Company’s intellectual property portfolio and contribute to its global patent strategy. Successful candidates should have demonstrable skills in evaluating new discoveries and seeing such discoveries through the patenting process from innovation disclosure to patent issuance. Candidates will preferably have a strong understanding of U.S. and foreign patent systems, including patent filing and prosecution processes, innovations review, patent searching, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Initially the position will be remote, but the expectation is that the patent function will return on-site sometime in 2021.
The candidate must be motivated, enthusiastic, professional, and committed to working as a team player, interacting with individuals throughout the organization, with a special emphasis on research and development. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong attention to detail and to work independently and efficiently. Communication skills to interact effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., research and development, business development, and management) are essential. This role will report to the Chief Legal Officer.
